Ahhhhh.....we have safety glasses

After our failure in the shop the other day to get Ryan to wear safety glasses in the shop, we took a trip to Woodcraft today. We found Ryan a cool pair of safety glasses that are just his size.
As you can see - he really likes them.
As a matter of fact... we went to the store around 11am. It is 7:30pm right now and he has only taken them off (reluctantly) for his nap.
They remind me of those black glasses that nerds used to tape up when they broke, so I am calling Ryan "Grandpa Junior" today.

Ryan's New Tent

Ryan got to bring home a tent that was no longer being used at daycare. We set it up in the living room and he settled right in. Here is the new blanket I made for Ryan - we call it the fuzzy blanket since it is made entirely of Minky fabric - SO soft!

Shop night

Ryan helping Daddy in the shop. Daddy is having a serious discussion about safety glasses. I tried and tried to keep them on him but he just wouldn't hear it. Finally we agreed that his sunglasses would be ok. Of course he only lasted about 2 minutes once the powertools started up.

Woohoo!!!! It snowed (again...)

The temperatures here have been totally insane this year. One day it will be in the 50s or 60s and the next day looks like this...

Snow soccer is so much fun!!!

Helping Mommy and Daddy shovel the driveway.

My playset is all snowy.

The air temp was around 34 degrees so this was perfect snowman snow.

We didn't do much more to the snowman. As you can see the little guy was cold and out of patience.

Sunday with the Lange's

His lip is looking much better today. It really doesn't look quite as bad in person as it does in this picture.

Playing in the tote.

Jen's newest quilt

Our friends Bob and Jess had a new baby boy Gabriel on January 28th. Jen was making a quilt but since he came early it required some frantic scrambling on her part. We had them over for dinner tonight so Jen could give them their new quilt.

Ouch!

Ryan fell down at daycare and really messed up his mouth. Apparently he was getting ready for naptime and was running to his mat and fell down. We got a phone call from daycare and rushed him to the doctor's office. There is a pretty deep cut in his lip (probably from his teeth) that you can't see in these pictures. We were worried he was going to need stitches but the doctor said it looked fine the way it is. It is pretty tender and sore. I guess we will be very careful about what foods we eat for the next several days. He is doing fine and barely even notices his lip.

Trever's Birthday Party!

Trever (one of Ryan's buddies) turned 3!!!!! At his party there were lots of activities. At this table there were lots of wood pieces and glue so the kids could make a creation and glue it all together.

Next Trever opened all his birthday presents.

Trever and Jackson playing in the "workshop".

Adrien and Jorja

Here we had construction hats and lots of stickers so all the kids can create their own.

Look at me Daddy!!!
