The rehearsal dinner was at this really cool house that Jenny and Evan rented with all of their friends. Great food, great entertainment :)
Sean and Jenny (one of my favorite pictures)
Sean and Jenny's Aunt Ruth, with Jenny and Sean
Sean made a poster for all of the gusts to sign and I put together a book of letters and pictures from relatives and friends for Jenny and Evan
Jenny and Evan with the book
It was a karaoke party, so Sean decided it would be fun to sing with his sister. Jenny has a wonderful singing voice, and Sean is pretty decent too. Their choice of song was horrendous however (as you can see from Evan's look here...)
Their second try was "sweet caroline" which was hysterical. I had it on video, until my littlest munchkin bumped me while I was creating room on the memory card and I accidentally deleted it. Jenny and Sean are lucky it got deleted is all I have to say.
Sean's sister, Jenny had her wedding on the beach in Delaware this past weekend :) Our family flew to BWI then drove to Bethany Beach on Thursday. We stayed at a bed and breakfast called The Addy Sea - it was gorgeous. Usually it is 21 and over, but for weddings they allow kiddos.
Here is Ryan on the little boardwalk that heads to the ocean.
Eric's first trip to the ocean. I was pregnant with him the last time we were on the beach.
He is not a big fan, I have to say. The waves were scary to him. Of course it was REALLY windy while we were there, and quite chilly. Perhaps if it was less windy, he might be happier to be on the beach.
This is the bed and breakfast
We decided to check out the town, get lunch and find a place for the kids to burn some energy.
I think the 4:30am wake-up call the day before caught up with them before we even got started :)
This is on the boardwalk of Rehoboth Beach hahaha. Most things were still closed up this early in the season or only open on the weekends. We were fortunate to find a few arcades for the kids to play in. We also stopped at Friendly's for lunch, so Mommy was pretty happy about that.
The bride and groom (Jenny and Evan), opening a gift from Jenny's Grandma Pabst. It was a beautiful milk glass piece
They also received this cool painting of the Addy Sea from a family friend of Jean and Leroy
Ryan finally got a real taste for what Field Day is this year. Last year it was raining so it was inside and he had no idea what he was missing out on. The fact that it was 92 degrees out did not stop the fun :)
The first station was a beanbag toss - Ryan did a great job, Sean and I were pretty impressed with his accuracy
Shade. yea! Throwing the ball against the wall (attempting to hit a target) The danger was in retrieving the balls.
Water and snack break. Here is Mrs. Durand with part of the class.
Tire rolling. Ryan went against Jade. Not a good match up - she is the most competitive/athletic girl I know :)
Ryan tried hard - but there is no beating Jade LOL
Here's a good look at the shirts the 1st grade made. They have worn these on their field trips as well.
Mrs. Durand evened out the teams - note she is keeping a close eye on the competition, but in the end, beats out the other team LOL. Have to admit she likes to win as well!
Tennis elbow game - another relay race
Here is the class "lining up" I do believe I heard Mrs. Durand say "your field day can be over now" hahaha Glad it isn't only my kids that have to be "first"
Down for the count. I am sure all the parents out there can here the whining in this.
Jumping the river contest.
Jade - wow. look at that form!
Ryan did pretty well at this
Brayden won the competition :)
Shoe kicking. I am thinking this should be a new competitive sport. I did predict correctly that Ryan's would go backwards :) Here is Brayden.
This was my favorite - a spin off of duck, duck, goose, it was "drip, drip, splash" with a large sponge of water. Drip on each person's head until you really let loose and splash on another kids head. I bet it felt great in this heat! This is Jade.
Ryan wanted to play basketball. I did my best to see if some of the other dads would volunteer to step up and coach. We had 4 teams and 2 coaches so I volunteered for basketball duty.
Here is Ryan warming up before the game.
Eric with one of his trademark cheesy grins during one of the games.
Our camera did not take very good pictures in the gym for some reason but the videos were not too bad.
This is Logan demonstrating his skills are way beyond that of a typical 2nd grader!!!
Ryan gets the pass and takes it down court...
It is Ryan's turn for the tip off.
So proud of his medal.
Here is the whole team. Notice we have 6 kids. Doesn't much in the way of subs. Sure glad that all of the kids were there for every game.
Because I will never remember all the names 2 weeks from now...
